The Working Group meets for the second time in Utrecht, 21-22 March

A two-day meeting of the ELI Project “Empowering European Families - Towards More Party Autonomy in European Family and Succession Law” took place in Utrecht from 21-22 March. This was the second meeting organised in the framework of the project, with the first one held in Vienna, on 11 January.

After the finalisation of the Questionnaire for Workstream 1 concerning Choice of Court, Choice of Law, Submission to Family Mediation, the Working Group met in order to complete the second Questionnaire intended for Workstream 2. The focus of the two-day meeting in Utrecht was the Questionnaire and discussions regarding the model dispositions to be developed during Workstream 2. The Working Group also  discussed some important issues pertaining to the upcoming second meeting on Workstream 1, which would take place from 10-11 April in Utrecht.

The aim of the project is to create European model dispositions, agreements and information sheets that will reduce the complexity and uncertainty that international couples in the EU are faced with. The project is organised into three Workstreams, which will produce one-stop shop solutions for married couples (Workstream 1), registered partners (Workstream 2) and individuals in informal relationships (Workstream 3).
